As we celebrate National Green Week, we think about all the research and the thinking that has been poured into more sustainable packaging. Suzanne Shelton is a frequent speaker at Sustainability Conferences and she brings energy and passion to her topics. Any time you can catch one of her talks, we encourage you to do so.
We will also celebrate National Green Week on the micro level. Our Shelby, Ohio based manufacturing facility sits smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. Kids regularly walk and bike by our facility. So we put up a Blessing Box several years ago and encouraged our associates and neighbors to give what they could of dry goods and gently used reading material and to take what they needed.
We will resupply our box this week and hope that a used copy of Treasure Island becomes one of our neighbor’s treasured reads. Sustainability comes in many different forms, not just packaging. It is a topic worth reading about!
